COVID-19 Update from UIF President Jim Moore

Dear Colleagues:

Tonight you may have received an email from the University of Illinois System President Timothy Killeen regarding the UI System’s latest efforts to minimize the impact of coronavirus COVID-19.  With the university preparing to conduct classes remotely, if necessary, I wanted to take a moment to inform you about Foundation plans concerning coronavirus prevention.

Because the health and safety of our employees and their families are our top priorities, everyone is encouraged to familiarize themselves with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention COVID-19 guidelines.  In following those recommendations, UIF has provided additional cleaning products and hand sanitizers for common areas, individual suites, and work stations.

In addition to following national and university policy, the Foundation is fully engaged in reviewing and updating our business continuity plan to accommodate flexible, remote working scenarios, should the need arise.

We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will amend UIF plans as necessary.  Please check your email for updates from the University of Illinois System and visit the CDC website for the most up-to-date virus management information.  The Foundation will also share updates via email, in addition to UIF Online.  If a temporary closure of any of our offices is necessary, you will be notified via email or by your manager via phone should the decision be made after regular business hours.

If you have any questions, please be sure to reach out to your manager or to UIF Human Resources.  Because the facts and circumstances regarding COVID-19 are changing rapidly, we will do our best to keep you informed of the most up to date information.  Thank you for your patience and assistance in managing the virus through all the collective efforts to contain the spread.

Best,

Jim
